DARE NJ Clothing Recycling Initiative

We are fortunate to have an ongoing relationship with Northeastern Import-Export, Inc. who operate our clothing recycling program. This relationship has been in place for some time and we have been successful in many placements throughout the state. We are looking for support from our DARE NJ communities for a mutually beneficial procurement of more locations!

This program is designed to raise funds for both state-wide and local DARE NJ program accounts. For every used clothing container placed in your community your local DARE NJ program will receive a monetary deposit into their local program account. These funds are used for events such as field trips and graduation ceremonies for the children being taught DARE NJ as well as educational materials. Additional funds received will benefit all DARE NJ programs in the state of New Jersey. The average program receives over $5,000 in services from DARE New Jersey and this initiative can greatly help to offset that amount.

All containers are kept clean and monitored daily to prevent overflow. The containers are routinely serviced by professional and courteous textile company employees. Each are fully insured and serviced by the premiere textile recovery company in the tri-state area. The bin size is 5'x 5'x 5' which equates to approximately 1 parking space worth of area for two bins.

This initiative can also be considered a 'green fundraiser' as the collection bins will keep unwanted items out of your local landfill. This is also an advantage to your community in being able to report the quantity of textiles recycled to the state for potential reimbursement.
